ClimateSummer - Daylight in Vancouver during summer lasts 16 hours, and the temperatures are warm without being uncomfortable. The average temperature in July is 18° C. When there is a breeze coming off the Pacific temperatures may seem slightly more mild, but the sun is still hot and can burn skin quickly. Winter - Vancouver has mild winters with gray skies and substantial rainfall from November to January. The average temperature in January is 3° C, and feels colder if you're wet. Although the city is surrounded by mountains, it rarely snows. Average annual precipitation: 1,219 mm Seasonal Clothing: What to wearSpring (March to May): Pants, jeans, long-sleeve shirts, t-shirts, light water-resistant jacket and hat. Be prepared with an umbrella or light water-resistant jacket for possible light showers. Summer (June to August): Beach clothing, shorts, skirts, t-shirts, tank-tops and sandals. After dark you may want a long sleeve shirt. Fall (September to October): Shorts, skirts, t-shirts, capri pants, jeans and a light jacket. Be prepared with an umbrella or light water-resistant jacket for possible light showers. Winter (November to February): Pants, jeans, sweaters, fleece layer, water-resistant jacket or coat and hat. An umbrella is your friend, and you may want a scarf and gloves. |
